Why Onan
Built to run in the background, all season.
Steady power for electronics
Electronic frequency control holds the output steady for computers, chargers and other sensitive equipment.
Diagnostics on the display
The Onan Digital Display shows engine and alternator readings and keeps a history of faults.
Built for sea duty
Certified by Lloyd’s Register for marine, offshore and industrial use.
Quiet and smooth
Sound-shielded versions, and mounts designed to cut vibration. From 7 kW the sets run at 1500 rpm on 50 Hz.
On the boat’s network
An optional SAE J1939 data link sends generator status and diagnostics to other systems on board.
Kubota and Cummins engines
Kubota diesels up to 29 kW, and the turbocharged Cummins B4.5 from 40 kW.
Features as Cummins describes them for the Onan marine range, checked 30-09-2026.
Servicing and Cruise Kits
What sits under the shield needs care.
Under the sound shield is a diesel engine, an alternator and the controls. The parts that need regular attention are the sea-water pump impeller, the zinc anode, the fuel and oil filters and the drive belt. In warm water, the strainer and heat exchanger need watching too.
Cummins packs the routine service parts for each model into a Cruise Kit. Tell us the model and spec letter and we will match the kit and the parts.
- Servicing to the Cummins maintenance schedule for your model
- Reading the fault history on the Onan display, and finding the cause
- Repairs with genuine parts
- Cruise Kits and parts matched to your model and spec letter
Identify your Onan
Three details get the right part.
The model number, the spec letter at its end, and the serial number, all on the generator’s nameplate. Send them, or a photo of the plate, and we will match parts to your exact set.
Parts, kits or service for your Onan.
Choose Generator, add the model, spec letter and serial number from the nameplate, or attach a photo of the plate. Tell us where the boat is and what it needs.
Keep the lights on board.
